How come when I say that phrase in my head is Justin Timberlake singing it but he is bringing sexy back?
Andrea is taking part in a Christmas journal class this year. I really want to do it but December is not a very good month for me. I work every day in December, and it is literally day and night. I love Christmas and I love to decorate for Christmas but it is mostly done the weekend after Christmas and then there isn't a lot of time. There is a lot of frozen pizza and not a lot of home cooked Martha meals this month and most of my shopping is done on-line. So scrapbooking is really out of the question. But I really miss is it and need that outlet.
So I am going to try to take 15 minutes out of my day and keep a Christmas Journal and take lots of pictures and then in January I can put together my Christmas journal. Hopefully that way I can find some sort of joy in the month.
Yesterday when I got home from work we went and got our tree. We live on the edge of the country so there is lots of tree farms. But this year I was bound and determined to find my spacey noble, I was not going to settle for the fat full tree this year. We found a tree farm that was in their first year so the trees were great and not picked over. It sat on the top of a large hill, and from the top you could see all of the mountains in the Cascades. Rainer, St. Helens, Hood, Washington, Jefferson and it was a clear day, but very cold. We found out big tree and John cut it down, and then we had to find the little tree for the front room. Yes I know 2 trees.... But the front one is little. John told me that I am not allowed to tell anybody where the farm was or the name, he doesn't want it to get to picked over.
We got the trees home and up and the big one decorated. I love unwrapping the ornaments every year, and hanging up all my favorite ones. But every year I buy more to add to the tree. Martha has some really pretty sparkly ones at Kmart this year, so I picked up a bunch to add in to the big tree and the others.
I like the nobles the best because their branches are thicker and can handle heavy ornaments and the spaces let the ornaments hang well.
After that came the other trees, I made a little forest of 5 trees on the kitchen ledge, each with a theme. My Starbucks tree, complete with Starbucks ornaments, two Martha trees with Martha Green colored MSEveryday ornaments and then my favorite glitter trees with Martha glitter ornaments.
But one of my very favorite is the garland that hangs in the arch way of the kitchen with all my fruit and veggie ornaments. Grandma got me a banana and a avocado this year to add to it. But I "had" two of the same asparagus clump ornaments and I was hanging the first one and dropped it and it shattered. I was upset, but I did have a identical one. Well as I hung that I dropped it and it shattered as well. So now my favorite ornament of my favorite vegetable are now gone.
So 6 trees down and about 5 more to go including the other real one for the front room. But I have to polish those ornaments first. Something that does not sound to appealing today. The big lights will go up today outside and the final thing to go up is the Santa light that is 4 feet tall and older than me.....
