Martha's new craft products

So after spending a ton of money this weekend on the new Martha Stewart scrapbook stuff at Michael's I thought I should do a layout.

I used all Martha except for the orange matte for the picture which was Bazzill Bling.

Paper: brown polka dots from the Pegboard paper pack, flocked multi color polka dots from the Gala paper pack and the cute ladybugs from the Playground paper pack. Ribbon: Orange and pink grid from the Evening Terrace set, brown from the Morning Terrace set and the skinny pink is actually a tape from the Nature set and the Coffee Bean twill tape. The glitter was made with the double sided super-adhesive glitter tape and then I used the Brownstone glitter. Letter stickers were the Swiss Dot Alpha. The tag was from a multi set of 18 different cards for making invitations and i even used the metal hanger that comes on every package of the new Martha stuff. I also used the fine point glittering glue on some of the ladybugs and glittered with the Brownstone a little more. You can never have enough glitter! here you are:

   

Martha's scrapbooking contest

Martha is having a scrapbook contest that was through yesterday and I of course waited until the last minute. I wanted to make something smaller then usual so that I can scan it all at once so I picked 8x8. My sister recently sent me a disk with tons of pictures of my niece and nephew and I found this picture of my niece in her cooking outfit. I whipped this together pretty quick since I was on a deadline, I wanted to use some of Martha's new scrapbooking stuff but in the end I didn't.  So my dream would be that she picks mine as one of her daily winners for the week of May 7th and she flys me to New York to spend the weekend at her house in Bedford and we become best friends and she asks me to stay and come work with her...... Lets all cross our fingers....

 

it's my birthday

today marks my 36th birthday..... almost 40 as my 41 year old husband likes to point out....thanks honey!

Nothing to exciting today, but I did make a visit to Michael's to check out the new Martha Stewart Crafts line, only at Michael's. I waited as long as I could this week since they have been promoting that it will not be out until Sunday. Andrea and Michelle both went yesterday and so I could wait no longer.....

There wasn't a whole lot of it out, but I did manage to spend over $100. I got some paper packs, one in the Martha favorite pattern of Foie Bois, (what looks like wood grain) the pictures on the outside did not so it justice, the papers are in gold and a sterling silver color and so cool!!! I got a few other things as well, like some ribbons, glitter letters and silver quilted letters, craft knife replacements, glitter tape and some flowers as well, Andrea is going back tonight because we really want a bird stamp....yes we are nuts! And then we are going to go on Saturday morning as well..... I love my Martha!!!

As for the lucky winner on the Blogaversary it is....................Michelle! I will have some goodies for you and get them to you this next week..... John got to pick the name out of a bowl and he asked me as he did it "so what am I doing? You are giving some of your stuff away? Yippeee" Calm down there Mr. I'm not giving up my back room, just a few things :)

A year ago today Andrea and I decided after 3 hours in the car together and maybe a glass of wine or two that it would be a good idea to start a blog together.... at first we thought it was a fantastic idea we can have a blog about scrapbooking, our weird husbands and maybe about our crazy jobs and call it real nobody's like us since we were not celebrity scrapbookers and just nobodies. Their is two versions of the next part, mine is that I went on vacation and Andrea was going to update the blog, she was super busy so she didn't have time...Her version... I kicked her off...  Well now she has her own and I turned mine into my love of Martha and many other things. So on with this first birthday lets look back at some of the highlights in pictures (and at the bottom find a special note where you can win)

Oh yes Kenny, how can I forget.... Up close and personal and even getting to meet him in person. Highlight of my life we may say.

A visit to Texas to visit my cute niece Madeline and containing the family love of Starbucks (It's only water)

Thanksgiving and my pretty pumpkins that lasted until mid December until I couldn't figure out what the smell was

Mom had surgery in December, they thought she could have Thyroid cancer. But thankfully it was benign and she is fine!

12 of 12 April

Another month and another 12 of 12, April may be one of the best months (2 weeks from today is my birthday) I tried to mix it up and not take pictures of the same thing that I do everymonth, Starbucks, lunch, the mailbox, etc.. but you will still get to see precious....

8:10am Got to leave the house a little later today since I had a meeting at HQ at 9:30am,Good for laying in bed a bit longer, but not good for traffic

8:50am Instead of a pic of Starbucks, a pic of my Starbucks ornament that hangs in my car. The girls at the drive thru Starbucks love it

9:30am Meeting at HQ, we just moved it. It is in a old funeral home. Kinda creepy when you have a meeting in what was once the embalming room

1:50pm had 2 more meetings and a lunch meeting but nobody wanted their picture taken. I was using my new favorite love right now my new Digital Rebel XTi so it wasn't really in my pocket to whip out for a photo op. So back in the car and a pic on the way home

2:15pm on the way home since I had camera in hand I decided to stop at the Cemetery and see Grandpa. I drive by it everyday but since I left my work cell phone at home I didn't feel rushed and decided to stop. My great grandma and grandpa are at the same place. Picture of cute Mickey to come below.. 3:00pm back home, check the cell phone and luckily I had only missed 4 calls. Good thing I sent a email to everbody that would call me, so they didn't bug me. And now for the always present cute little muffin, she loves to lay down in strange ways

3:15pm working in the dinning room and I decided that I wanted to play with my new camera and take some pictures around the house. I love my curtains, I am pretty fond of anything that is Damask print

3:20pm and another one, the picture wall. I love my Hyannis Ferry sign that I found at a antique mall at the beach. I also picked up the tall flowering branches at the store last week. Most of the flowers fell off as soon as I brought them in the house, but oh well now they have green leaves. I wonder if I can grow a whole tree.... maybe not

3:45 and as promised, a picture of my super cute Great Grandma Mickey. She lived to be 103 and she was the cutest thing. I was lucky enough to be the oldest great grandchild so I had 30 years to spend with her. She is so adorable....

4:00pm started dinner, or at least the Vegetable Tian from Barefoot Contessa. I just think it is so pretty just as it is. It still needs the shredded Gruyere Cheese but I love the colors

4:30pm another picture from the house. I love this mirror, another find from the antique store at the coast.

5:15pm new stuff came in the mail today. Hambly screen print clear overlays for scrapboking as part of a monthly kit. One of the best parts is that when you open the package it smells like vanilla.

Circle Journal Sheila's

Sheila's idea was "Happiness is..." I made out a big list of things I was happy for at this very moment and then looked at these pages for 2 weeks. We hit a little break in the Circle Journal and I could have been good and finished it right away and then took it to Michelle, but I had to email and lether know I was not "Happy with the Happiness pages yet"

I wanted to do black and white and had some new Jenni Bowlin paper so I was happy there and that was about it. But in the end I finished with a little bit of Bazzill Bling green paper and a picture of my pretty girl Freida and now we are ready to go to Michelle. When I showed John he said this page looks like our living room. Oopps... he's right....
