Who said you can't put lipstick on a pig? Last week I made Obama cupcakes for the debate. This week I had an idea while driving in the car Saturday and had to make a cupcake for tonight..... Since I am not a big fan of Ms Palin, I thought I would poke a little fun at her. Maybe it should have been a bulldog....
I looked at the cake store for some candy molds in the shape of lips but they were all too big. I did find some cute little piggy molds though. I thought about what I could make for the lips and a trip to the grocery store and the candy aisle helped with the idea of using Starburst candy to mold into lips. I got the red and pink candy nice and warm so that I could roll it and mold it into lips. After a few efforts I came up with the shape. The good thing with candy is that I could just re-mold it.
I made the piggy from a mold and some pink chocolate and there you are.... lipstick on a pig.....
Don't forget to watch the debate tonight, I'm sure it will be filled with all sorts of interesting comments.
