Can you believe it is November already? Well it is almost Thanksgiving, I just panicked when I realized that a few days ago, but Martha and Everyday Food is there for you when planning your menu. It is on the newsstands now so get it before the December is out in a few days. Here are some of my highlights....
Page 16; Sauteed chicken with mushrooms and green beans, this is a excellent all in one recipe that is a perfect week night quick fix for dinner. It has mushrooms so it os a winner in my book
Page 21: In Season-Cranberry Bread, I haven't made this yet, but it looks great. Perfect for a little snack, just a slice lightly toast with a little butter.....
Page 34: Eat Smart: Lighter chicken enchiladas, these were great with the addition of the smoky chipotles, perfect!
Page 71: Holiday Dinner, here you go, this is what you need. I made the whole menu a few weekends ago. It just sounded like a great thing to do. Although I used a Turkey breast instead of a huge turkey. The Roasted Turkey with brown-sugar and mustard glaze is great, the mustard gave it a little extra something. The Bourbon Gravy is fantastic and the Pecan Cornbread dressing got big thumbs up from John.
Page 80: Chocolate pecan pie, I make a Chocolate pecan pie every year for Thanksgiving that is also a Martha recipe from years ago, I think this one looks pretty close. It is a great combination!
Page 86: Coconut Custard pie.... enough said...
Page 92: Rigatoni with Spiced Meat Sauce, I added about three times as much pepper to give it even more of a zip, it was fantastic!
Page 100: Roasted paprika chickens with greens and grains, another great weeknight meal. So healthy and tasty
Page 103: Shrimp with scallions and crispy potatoes, this was out Halloween night meal and it was great. Just try not to eat all the potatoes while the shrimp are cooking
