or the last month has lasted forever, not a day off since Thanksgiving day and working over 500 hours since then. I am physically and emotionally drained and just want to sit in a room by myself. I get like this every year when New Years is finally done. I have a stack of magazines and New York Times that have been neglected, haven't cooked a single thing since Christmas day and then there is the lack of sleep. I tried to take some pictures of some of the mayhem and even of some of my day on the 31st that was spent mostly in my car going from location to location. But now it is another New Years down...
little plastic ice cubes in little boxes, tied with ribbons that associate with the color of each of the location and then a "Happy New Year" tag attached to each one.... put together about 800 of these. Thankfully my sister helped me with these
These are the envelopes with the itinerary for the night for each guest, some locations have 4 or 5 different itineraries that then have to be matched up to each guest and includes vouchers for food and drinks, wristbands and reservation times. I color code each location so that it is more custom but also helps for a really fast way to differentiate between them
Some of the process to put it all together. My back office at home barely had enough room for me to get in and out and to sit down. In the box are the cards I use for each of the personalized menus. The guests get to choose what they would like for an entree and then I create a menu for each of them with their names on it. My new printer is much slower then my old one, the menu process took until 2:30 in the morning Tuesday night to finally finish.
the only way I made it through it was with lots of help from my friend "starbucks"
I made some homemade Salmon Lax for Christmas morning and it keep me well nourished through the 30th. There really is nothing better then Salmon, in my book. I hope I don't have mercury poisoning since I ate so much of it this week.
Here we are starting the day, about 7:30 am and sitting in the line for Starbucks. Self portrait. When I got to one of the locations a lovely girl I work with said "you look horrible" don't you love that
I think this was stop 3 or 4, this one has a vineyard in the front and still a little snow on the ground
my car was loaded with Kettle Chips, party favors, light up ice cubes and extras of everything my motto is always "better to be safe, then sorry" I had just picked up the flowers to drive out to one of the other locations and then I turned a corner and then one of the boxes shifted and as I drove I heard the water pouring out
You can see some of the water, luckily it did not get on the menus or room cards that I made (at the top of the page) if that happened I might have just kept on driving south until I ran out of gas
another stop, this one we call the "Roadhouse"
Pretty much what I spent the day looking at
Happy New Year... .off to make some Black Eyed Peas for dinner...
